Reboot makes in-kind grants of refurbished electronic equipment to eligible organizations. The computer hardware that we grant is used. We receive it from donations made by individuals and organizations in our community. It is then refurbished by our staff and volunteers.
We primarily grant complete PC computers which come installed with either Windows or Linux Mint as an operating system. All of these systems are excellent for typical office tasks, such as word processing and browsing the web.
We are now accepting applications for our Hardware Grants from Sheboygan area non-profit and not for profit organisations. If your organization is in need of hardware please apply!
Reboot's educational hardware grant program connects Sheboygan area residents currently enrolled in any level of schooling with free and low-cost refurbished technology. Applicants may only receive one granted computer per school year. We will do our best to grant a computer to all eligible applicants, however our supply is limited by the number of viable donations we receive. If we are unable to fulfill all eligible requests, eligible applicants will be added to a waiting list and will receive a grant as more equipment becomes available.
If you, or your children are a resident currently enrolled in any level of schooling and are in need of a computer, please apply!
Please bring hardware donations to 1131 N 8th St (side door) on Thursdays 4pm - 7pm.
If you would like to schedule a different time please contact us.

Please bring your donations to the side door of our friends at Goodside Grocery.
We take the security of your data seriously. We ensure any data storage devices we receive are wiped clean using Department of Defense standards. While hard drives are an important part of our operation, you may also choose to keep storage devices at the time of donation so that you can protect your data as you see fit.
We use donated computers and computer parts to build useful machines that can be donated to Schools, Non-profits, and citizens that can make use of it. We attempt to use as much of every donation in the building of working computers as possible. The parts we are unable to use are brought to an E-Cycle Wisconsin registered facility to be recycled.
Reboot is a group of people that believe too many useful computers sit unused and unloved in storage, or find their way to dumps, or recycling facilities, and that too few people have access to and education with computers. We seek to rescue those computers from destruction and refurbish them to prolong their usefulness. We do this by accepting unused or broken computers from businesses and community members refurbishing them and responsibly recycling what we can't reuse. Then when we have working systems we find organizations and community members that are in need of computers and distribute them. We also plan to educate community members by hosting workshops and livestreams.
We are a group of friends that came together because of our love for computers, video games, and general geekery. We realized we could combine our powers and achieve a tangible goal while doing things we love and formed Reboot!
